Today I was back at Mall of Travancore and was in the mood to have something sweet and so, went over to The Muffin House… This time, I found that they have Muffins and so I chose the Mango Muffin… In addition the Muffin, I also wanted a drink and what caught my eye from their menu this time is something they call as Bango Shikofe… So, this post is to talk about them 🙂
So, first, lets talk about the Mango Muffin… As you can see from the pic below, as can be understood from the size of the spoon there, its a tiny muffin when compared to the muffins we get at most places but when it comes to flavour it does indeed pack a punch… I felt that the flavour of the Mango was quite strong and the Muffin itself was quite soft and fluffy… Overall, definitely worth trying if you ask me… The only thing I am left wishing for when it comes to this muffin is that I wish the sweetness level was a bit lower… Otherwise, can’t complain 🙂
Next up is the drink that I chose, the one they call as Bango Shikofe… When I asked the staff there, what he told me is that its basically layered thick milkshake consisting of two layers – Banana and Mango and hence the “Bango” in the name… Not idea where the “Shikofe” came from though 🙂 However, it was served as shown in the pic below in a tall glass and the layers are indeed visible… When it comes to taste, first of all, again there is the problem of too much sweetness here but ignoring that, I felt that the flavours of the Mango and Banana were just spot on… The shake was indeed incredibly thick and rich in terms of the flavours, especially of the Mango which was the best taste of Mango I have ever had in a milkshake… This one is undoubtedly a must try…
Overall, I must say, I did end up liking both of the items with the Bango Shikofe being my favourite and one of the favourite shakes of all time… I for one will be having it again the next time I visit the place 🙂
