Today, got the chance to visit the newly opened FruitBae, at Kuravankonam, Trivandrum… People who know me personally would know that I am allergic to most fruits and so why I would go to a Juicery claiming to serve 100% pure fruit juice you ask, I would say that a friend of mine managed to convinced me that much to try especially their fruit shots… So, basically armed myself with anti-allergic medication and went there 🙂
The place is located below the popular Old’s Cool Bistro, in the ground floor of the same building… Basically a small but nice looking shop as shown in the pics below… Fair amount of crowd considering its new…
The menu has various kinds of fruit and vegetable juices, crushes, shakes, tender coconut mixed shakes, etc to even a small selection of desserts and fruit meals… As I said before, I was here for the shots and so that what I went for… Among the list of options, I went for two sets of shots, namely their Refreshment Shots and also their Healthy Shots… Each of the set consists of 4 shots as shown in the pic below…
First up was the Refreshment Shots, served as shown in the pics below… According to the menu, its consists of a shot each of Pomegranate, Pineapple, Orange and Watermelon… All 100% pure juice with no water, sugar or ice…
As the name suggests, it was indeed refreshing to drink them… I could tell that they all are real fruit juices and based on the taste, I can say they are sourcing good quality fruits…
Next up is the set called Healthy Shots… As per the menu, this consists of Cucumber, Beetroot, Carrot and Gooseberry and was served as shown in the pics below…
Again, felt quite refreshing to drink although I think except Carrot, the others are an acquired taste… Based on the viscosity though, I am a bit skeptical on their claim of not using any water at all, I mean about the ones other than Cucumber in this set… Cause they usually have low water content… So, I guess they mean just the minimum amount of water needed to make them into the form of juice… Anyways, loved all of them…
After having the shots, as recommended by the waiter, I decided to try a couple of their Tender Coconut Shakes… So, went for the TC Shamam and TC Grape as shown in the pic below…
According to the menu, TC Shamam as shown in the pics below is a shake made using Tender Coconut, Frozen Milk, Sugar and Shamam (Cantaloupe) fruit…
Absolutely loved this one as I felt the flavours of the Shamam and Tender Coconut works really well… This might certainly be my favourite shake of all time… The shake was quite thick cause I guess of no water added as they claim… It is an incredibly rich and refreshing shake at the same time…
The TC Grape is again made just like the TC Shamam but using Grapes instead of Shamam… It was served as shown in the pics below…
To be frank, I didn’t like this one like I did the others cause I felt the flavour of the grapes used were not working with that of the Tender Coconut used… Maybe a fix would be to use some other type of Grapes here…
So, thats it for now… I loved every bit of the fruit shots and can’t thank my friend enough who pushed me to try it… I can say, I will definitely be back for more… 🙂
