Broccoli Pizza & Pasta: The First Visit

Posted on August 22, 2019November 2, 2020 By Anoop Kammaran Anoop Kammaran

It was a friend of mine who informed me about Broccoli, the Dubai based restaurant chain today and also the fact that they have an outlet at the Mall of Travancore here… I was discussing about the various Pasta options in Trivandrum with my friend and I was suggested to give this place a try… And so, I went there in the evening and got to tried one of their pasta options and this post is about the same…

I saw that do have a good selection of Pizza and Pasta options in their menu… However, when I approached the counter, I was greeted by the Chef who informed me that I get to choose the ingredients and make my own pasta dish and when I heard that, I picked the Fusilli pasta and Chicken and the main ingredient… I also told him that I don’t like my pasta to be too creamy and also I don’t like it to be too spicy and tangy either and he told me that he can make it medium spicy and tangy with a little bit of creaminess ie, mixing both their White and Red sauces without adding Cheese to achieve that balance and I left the choice of Vegetables to him too… The pics here show the end result which was the Pasta dish served with a slice of Garlic Bread… 🙂

Coming to the taste, first of all, the pasta was cooked perfectly… The sauce was exactly the way I expected it to be with the richness of the cream and the tanginess of the tomatoes well balanced… The pieces of Chicken were also cooked and seasoned well… The vegetables used were Onions, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Olives and Mushrooms… The whole dish appeared to have been seasoned well with Salt, Pepper, Oregano as well as Thyme… The given Garlic Bread on the other hand, ended up being too dry and lacked the flavour of Garlic too in my opinion… But its ok cause its the Pasta dish thats important and what I came here for… Overall I loved it… Definitely a must try… 🙂 I am hoping to be back to try their Pizzas… Hopefully soon…
